Courses sell information, and every coach in it gives most of that information away free on YouTube, so a course is really a $47 to $59 organizing fee. Sessions sell judgment about your situation and someone to answer to, which is the part with no free substitute. Monthly tiers and retreats sell immersion, and at those prices you should interview the coach like a hire. The thing no tier sells, whatever the page implies, is your ex’s decision. One comparison worth holding onto: therapy without insurance averages about $140 a session and insurance often covers it. If what you need is help functioning rather than a strategy, the licensed option is cheaper and better suited. Coaching is never covered, mine included.

Single sessions with known names span $119 to $579, and ongoing arrangements run from $147 a month for email-only up to several thousand a month at the top tiers. I charge $499 a session, which puts me above the middle and below the most expensive seat in the niche.
Why do prices vary this much?
Because nothing anchors them. Coaching is unregulated: no license, no board, no standard training, so a price is pure positioning. A $579 session is not four times better than a $137 one by any measurable standard, because no measurable standard exists. Pay attention to what you can verify instead: visible pricing, refund terms, and whether the coach promises outcomes nobody can promise.
Is a $47 course better value than a $500 session?
They’re different products. A course is information, and most of that information is on the same coach’s free channel, so try free first. A session is judgment about your specific situation plus someone to answer to, which is the part you can’t download. If you’ve read the free material and you’re still stuck or still sending texts you regret, that’s when a session earns its price. If you just want the method, the method costs nothing.
Does insurance cover breakup coaching?
No. Coaching has no diagnosis codes, so no insurer touches it. Therapy is different: sessions without insurance typically run $100 to $250 with a national average around $140, and insurance often covers it. If your distress is clinical rather than strategic, therapy is both the better tool and the cheaper one.
